  • Don’t leave unattended
  • Keep away from children & pets
  • Only burn on a level, fire resistant surface
  • Keep wick trimmed to ¼”
  • Don’t burn longer than 4 hours, unless you extinguish the candle and trim the wick before relighting
  • When you allow your wick to get too long your candle may put off black smoke which can get into your walls and furniture.
  • If the flame gets too high, it may cause your candle jar to overheat.
  • Once your flame is higher than one inch, it’s time to trim.
  • Keep your wick trimmed to 1/4 inch during the entire burn process.
  • If you are going to burn your candle for several hours, check the wick every couple hours.
  • Tunneling is when a candle burns down the center of the vessel and leaves a ring of unmelted wax around it.
  • The first time you burn your candle allow the candle to burn until the melted wax reaches the edge of the container.
  • This should take between 2 and 3 hours in our 10 oz candle jar.
  • Burning the candle this length of time will prevent the wax from tunneling on the side of the jar.
  • Future burns should also be long enough so the melted wax reaches the edge of the container.
  • In general, you need a 10 ounce candle for every 12’ feet of radius in your room.
  • For a larger room, you may want to burn two or three candles.
  • Using candles of the same scent in a single room, may work the best.
  • A smaller room, like a bathroom, may just need a 4 ounce candle.
  • The scent will fill the room over time. It typically takes an hour or so for the scent to fill your room.
  • Remember, you can go nose blind after a while. If you are in the room where candles are burning, the scent may not seem too strong to you. However, someone walking into the room may find the scent to be much stronger.
  • Consider burning different scented candles in different rooms in your house. That way, when you move from room to room your nose will “wake back up” when you encounter a new scent.
  • Freezer Method
    • Place your (cooled) candle jar into the freezer for 30 minutes – 4 hours.
    • Take it out and carefully use a butter knife to loosen and pry out the leftover wax.
  • Melting Method
    • On your candle’s last burn, you can pour the melted wax out onto a paper towel or other paper/trash (that won’t melt).
    • Carefully wipe the jar clean with a paper towel.
  • Boiling Method
    • Carefully pour boiling water into the jar with leftover candle wax. Let it sit for 4-5 hours, then you can attempt to remove the wax, which should rise to the top.
